About the Blogger

My name is Jesse Doogan. I recently reached the stage of life where I’m supposed to be some sort of a grown up, but I’m still trying to figure out what that looks like. So far, the major advantages have been getting to work for my dream employer and having a cute apartment. The major disadvantages have been paying rent and having to feed myself every day.

I try to maintain a healthy long-distance relationship with my aged cat.

I work as digital publishing coordinator at Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. That means that I spend most of my time with ebooks and some of the best people I’ve ever met. Every single day I get to help make books. The novelty has not worn off.This is where I should tell you this: The opinions represented on this site are my own, and do not necessarily represent those of my employer.

I graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 2009 with a degree in print communications. I worked on the yearbook there, and that’s where I really figured out that I wanted to spend the rest of my life making books. It’s also where I learned the words antediluvian, impracticable, and infralapsarianism.

My hobbies include not being able to open jars of paint when attempting to DIY something, performing dramatic readings of book blurbs, translating pop songs into very poor German, and avoiding going to bed at a decent hour through any means necessary.

Other than that, I try to eat really good food and to see this whole life as an adventure. Oh, and I live just outside Chicago. That means that that food is often pizza, and the adventures often involve wind, snow, and really tall buildings. Over bei dere.
